Katsina businessman & family k!dnapped from home regains freedom after N50m ransom::::::


K!dnapped Katsina businessman, Anas Ahmadu, his seven-month pregnant wife, Halimatu, and their two-year-old daughter have regained their freedom after three weeks in captivity.

The family was released on Wednesday night, September 17, following 21 days in the hands of their abductors.

A relative confirmed to Daily Trust that a ransom of N50 million was paid to secure their release.

“Alhamdulillah! Anas, Halimatu, and their daughter have been released by their captors tonight. They are on their way home. But a ransom of N50 million was paid to the assailants,” the relative said, adding that the pickup location would remain undisclosed for security reasons.

The family was k!dnapped on August 26, 2025, from their home in Filin Canada Quarters, Katsina metropolis.

Their abductors initially demanded N600 million, later reducing it to N100 million on September 3, before finally agreeing to N50 million.
